Is it possible to fit a msd 6 cylinder cap to any of the msd magnetos?

unfortunately not...there is more involved then changing the cap.
the center section is made up of 8 top bobbins and 8 lower bobbins
plus the rotors top and bottom have 8 rare earth magnets in them.

and at that point, to be used on a 6 cylinder ....you would have to re-engineer the whole magneto and points box ( $$$$$$$$$)

Thanks for that, sounds as though it can't be done. Never realized that so much would have to changed internally, back to the drawing board!
